WHAT IS IT?

SafeZone™ 3 is the next generation safety laser scanner that features high-definition distance measurement scanning technology which improves the accuracy of the scan data and increases the scanner’s immunity to dust, smoke, and optical interferences. CIP Safety™ over EtherNet/IP™ enables integration of the SafeZone 3 safety laser scanner in a SIL 2/ PLd GuardLogix® Safety Control System. Ultimately, smart safety devices like the SafeZone 3 provide meaningful information so users can monitor machine health, increase uptime, improve flexibility and enhance safety, while lowering total cost of ownership.

WHERE IS IT USED?

Designed for use on or around dangerous areas, accesses, and hazardous points. In stationary applications, the safety scanner can be mounted horizontally or vertically to detect personnel in or around machinery hazards. As a safety mat replacement where irregular shape requirements or the work environment would present a problem for a rigid mat to operate properly. SafeZone 3 can simultaneously monitor 4 separate fields thereby controlling several hazardous points without having to switch between preconfigured fieldsets.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

The CIP over Ethernet/IP safety laser scanner adds the advantage of integration with a GuardLogix control system using Studio 5000 Logix Designer® using an Add-on-Profile (AOP). It also supports Device Level Ring (DLR) network topology which helps increase network resiliency. The configuration program and IP address is stored in the removable system plug allowing quick device replacement. It comes with a bright display screen for diagnostic information with push buttons to call up additional information such as IP address. The laser scanner comes in a rugged design developed for harsh industrial environments and is more resilient and robust while increasing productivity through increased up-time. The laser scanner's optic cover is replaceable and there are a variety of mounting brackets available.
